Palazzo Davanzati which takes its name from the Davanzati family is a typical Florentine residence which bears witness to the transition from the medieval tower-house to the Renaissance residence. Inside there are huge rooms richly decorated with lively frescoes such as the Sala dei Pappagalli and the Sala dei Pavoni, the latter conserving the Madonna and Child recently attributed to the young Filippo Brunelleschi.
